# An MBTI-style test from your Instagram chats

The short answer: load your Instagram data (or two or three WhatsApp chats) into PsycheAI and it reads your four letters from how you actually write and behave, not from how you answer questions. ## What your chats show about each letter

- **E or I**: how many different people you seek out, who starts the conversations and how you recover after busy stretches, not simply how much you talk.
- **S or N**: whether you write about concrete plans and details, or ideas, possibilities and what things mean.
- **T or F**: how you handle a disagreement or a friend’s bad news: solutions and reasons, or feelings and reassurance.
- **J or P**: plans made and kept, replies that close things off, or open threads and last-minute changes.

## Why “MBTI-style”

MBTI is a trademark of the Myers-Briggs Company, and the official instrument is a questionnaire. PsycheAI is not connected to it. It reads the same four preferences from your behaviour instead, and says how confident it is, so a letter that only slightly showed is marked as slight.

## Questions

### Does it read my friends’ messages?

They are read on your device for timing and context. What is sent is a sample of your own messages, some with a short, de-identified line of what they answered; other people become numbers like [P1].

### Is it the same as 16Personalities?

No. 16Personalities is a questionnaire. This is a reading from behaviour, so it can differ from a quiz result; the difference is often the interesting part.

### Is it free?

### Do I need an account?
