Your MBTI type, without answering a single question
Questionnaires ask you to rate yourself, and people answer as who they want to be. PsycheAI infers your type from what you actually do online, shows how clear each letter is, and adds your Big Five traits for the detail four letters miss.
Why skip the questionnaire?
Self-report tests have a well-known problem: the answers drift with mood, with how the question is worded, and with the version of yourself you would like to be. Retake one a month later and a letter can flip. Behaviour is steadier. How you spend your evenings, whether you broadcast or converse, whether you plan or improvise, how you write to people close to you: years of that is a better record of type than ten minutes of agreeing or disagreeing.
What you get
- Your four letters, each marked slight, moderate or clear, so a borderline letter says so instead of pretending.
- Your Big Five: openness, conscientiousness, agreeableness, extraversion and sensitivity, each from 0 to 100.
- The evidence behind each reading, from your own activity.
- The rest of your Psyche Card: the character you are most like, your signature patterns, motivations, values, interests and love languages.
How to start
- In Instagram, open Settings → Accounts Centre → Your information and permissions → Download your information.
- Choose Create export → your account → Export to device.
- Set Date range to All time, Format to JSON (not HTML) and Media quality to Lower.
- Instagram emails a link, usually within 1–2 hours. Download the .zip and load it into PsycheAI.
What happens to your data
Your Instagram zip, your photos and videos, the finished report and other people’s messages – apart from a short, anonymised line of what some of your messages were replying to – never leave your device. A short digest of your own words and activity is de-identified first (your name becomes a blank; emails, phone and ID numbers are removed; other people’s handles and the names of people you message become numbers like [P1] and [N1]) and is sent once to Google Vertex AI (Gemini, on Google Cloud’s enterprise tier, which does not train on it) to write the reading. PsycheAI keeps no copy, and there is no account – only a one-way scrambled code of your Instagram username, so each account gets one free card.
Why behaviour, not questions
A questionnaire records how you see yourself on the day you answer it. Your own data records years of what you actually did: how often you start conversations, how many different people you talk to, whether you plan ahead or decide on the day, how you write when something goes wrong. Each letter is read from patterns like these, and comes with how clear it is, so a type that sits near the middle says so rather than pretending to be certain.
Read about all 16 types, how each one tends to show up in what people post and message, and the characters each type most often matches. Your card also scores the Big Five, which most personality research uses.
Questions
Is this an official MBTI assessment?
No. MBTI is a trademark of The Myers-Briggs Company and this is not their instrument. PsycheAI gives a type-style reading inferred from behaviour, alongside the Big Five, which is the model most personality research uses.
How accurate is a type read from social media?
It is an inference, not a measurement, and it says how sure it is: each letter carries its strength and the card a confidence score. Thin or very private accounts give less to go on.
Can I compare my type with someone else?
Yes. Open a friend’s Psyche Card link, or scan the QR code on their card, for a free Psyche Sync: how in sync you are as friends.
How much does it cost?
Your first Psyche Card and Psyche Report are free. Re-runs are US$5.
